What is the deal with all the love for Baron Davis?

I get it, he played great against the Mavericks. What else has he ever done to be called one of the top players in the NBA? He is unmotivated for 95% of the season, and gets mysterious injuries whenever his team is out of the playoff picture. Also, he does not put up stunning numbers. 20 ppg, 8 apg, 4 rpg was his stat line for this past season. That could be done by plenty of guys. Sure, he is a star player, but not someone hwo deserves as much love as he gets on this site. How many people honestly think he is one of the top 4 or 5 players? Hell, how many ywould put him in the top 25? Well, those people would be wrong. He is a talented yet streaky player who hit the popularity jackpot by getting hot against the Mavericks.





So, why is this guy all that great?What is the deal with all the love for Baron Davis?

The reason he is so popular all of a sudden is because he brought a team that shouldn't have even made the playoffs because of such a poor lineup, into the second round of the playoffs and to be the 8th seed in the West and go against the number 1 seeded Dallas Mavericks (who everybody tipped to win the championship, might i add), makes him a very popular player, but by allstar break '08, he'll be back to the B-Diddy that he used to be.
He had a great playoff run, when he settles back into another injury-plagued season he will be forgotten.
The NBA doesn't promote Baron Davis. There have been people on this site who have said that he is better than LEBRON JAMES. That was back around the Eastern Conference Championship before game five and the end of the Finals. I totally agree with you.
